The Old Farmhouse

I have driven by the old farmhouse daily for years. It is a simple house on a fairly busy road with an American flag waving proudly from the front porch beckoning you into the comfort and simplicity of yesteryear. It has always reminded me of the house in Oregon that my grandpa had built himself for my grandma. The one I had grown up knowing and then the one that housed so many memories when we lived there when my grandparents passed away. Plus I have always wondered what it was like inside.

And then it happened! I was looking at the hot sheet of new listings for sale (I am a Realtor) and I recognized it instantly! I wasn’t quite ready to purchase but I knew I HAD to see inside…just to satisfy my curiousity and get the house out of my head. I had thought that for sure it couldn’t be as perfect for me as I had been imagining for so long….until I discovered it was.

I invite you to follow along my journey as I embark as a solo homeowner, starting over from scratch with a farmhouse and many (many) projects to undertake. Be there with me as “we” succeed and fail…while always learning along the way!
